Fennel grows in the wild thorough Italy, from the sea to the foothills of the mountainous regions. It grows in arid places, therefore Sicily seems to be an ideal place for this plant, which has found many uses in here, not only culinary. Due to its properties which facilitate digestion, the seeds are used to prepare infusions, teas, liqueurs, and to spice up mulled wine. In our region these seeds are also used to give bread and other baking aroma and flavour. The seeds are often used together with hot chilli pepper and as an addition in the production of pork sausages. They are an ideal addition to fish and meat.
Keep in a dry place away from the sources of light.
They blend perfectly with fish and meat. The seeds are also used in the preparation of infusions, teas and liqueurs.
