A unique scent that evokes southern Italy with its distinguishing cuisine. Much more common is the use of this aromatic herb in the kitchen: wild oregano from the Ibla mountains combines well with salads, fresh fish, meat and roasted vegetables. A bit of oregano on a bruschetta served only with fresh, aromatic olive oil and salt (possibly with a hot chilli pepper) turns this plain fare into a tasty side dish or a perfect snack during the evening aperitif.
