Naveline is an early variety of orange with light-coloured flesh that ripens in the beginning of November and is usually harvested until January. The tree has mainly fruits that are of medium and large calibre. The peel is rough, thick, what makes the fruit tough, both before and after the harvest (the peel is perfect for crystallisation). In the lower part of the orange you can see a growth called “navel”, from which its name originates. The “navel” results from a sibling fruit that grows inside the main fruit. Navelina is picked in the beginning of the season and is fairly sour, yet further into season it retains more sugar and loses its acidity.
